12-days in China: YiXing, Jingdezhen and Anhui.

We will depart for Yixing from Shanghai on the morning of April 15 and start on our tour by bus. Participants should plan to arrive on April 14. A room will be booked at a hotel in Shanghai.

First stop in Yixing, the teapot capital! We will take a 2-day teapot making workshop lead by Master Gu Meiqun at her school. All tools and materials will be provided. We will also take in some sights and museums. And teapot making tools shopping!

Second stop will be Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital! Here we will explore local artists, ancient kilns, Taoxichuan Market and Sanbao Village. Plus another opportunity to buy more tools and supplies! Pack another bag.

Third stop, Anhui, home to Huangshan (黄山, Yellow Mountain), and our final destination where we will make work for the naked raku process lead by artist, Kim Young Soo. A 5-day workshop includes making, finishing, bisque firing and raku firing. All tools and materials will be provided.

Trip fee includes transportation from Shanghai on 4/15 though return trip to Shanghai on April 27th. Lodging, meals and programmed activities as listed above.

Final payment due by January 15, 2025

• In the case of cancellation after January 15, 2025, Security Deposit will be forfeited. If/when your spot fills by March, 2025, the remainder of your fees will be returned. All fees will be forfeited if cancelled after February 15, 2025.

• If Waitlisted, you will be contacted by email when a spot opens. You will have 48 hours to respond with a Security Deposit to secure your spot.

• A charge of $50 for returned checks or payments will be applied to your balance. Placement on tour will be void until Security Deposit is fully processed.

• China requires a visa, it is your responsibility to apply for your visa on time and your passport current.

• Fees include:
  - lodging, April 14 until check-out on April 27, 2025: Yixing, Jingdezhen, Anhui
  - museum admissions
  - workshop fees: Yixing Teapot Workshop, Naked Raku Workshop
  - travel during tour dates
  - meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner (except alcoholic beverages).

• Fees do not include:
  - airfare to and from China.
  - applicable tourist visa for China
  - airport transfers to and from Shanghai.
  - toiletries/cosmetics, otc medications, alcoholic beverages, snacks and souvenirs, etc.
  - travel insurance (including but not limited to medical, lost luggage, flight cancellations, etc.)

All lodging is single-room occupancy, double occupancy and non-workshop participant discount is not available for this trip as activities are suitable for all levels.
Partial participation fee reduction is not available.
Itinerary, including workshops and tour destinations, may change due to unforeseen circumstances. Tour management will make every effort to replace and substitute to maintain integrity of the tour.
