Colibri Pottery Studio welcomes Miki Shim, a Bay Area ceramic artists known for her teapot forms to teach a 2-day hands-on teapot making workshop.

First day will be throwing on the wheel for each element of the teapot: body form, fitted lids, dripless spout and various handle options. On the second day, we will trim and construct our teapots using her best practices methods of making tea strainers, attaching spouts and considerations for handles. Glazing techniques will be demonstrated.

Welcome to the unique experience of creating a functional work of art over the course of a weekend. You must be comfortable quickly centering and throwing at least 2 pounds of clay to keep up with the pace that allows us to achieve this thing of beauty in this considered timeframe. Please bring your own tools and apron. Materials fee $30.
