Korean Ceramics Tour 2025

Tour includes museums, historical sights and interests in Seoul, plus artist studio visits in Yeoju, Icheon, and Ulsan.

Tour includes visits to artist galleries, demonstrations by master potters and shopping trip to ceramics supplies store at Icheon Ceramics Village. Participants will also have the opportunity to work hands-on with local artists practicing traditional Korean Ceramics and fire the Korean traditional Mangdenggi woodfire kiln with.

Participants should plan on arriving in Seoul in late September (actual dates TBD).

  • Additional sights and studio visit to be announced.

  • All hands-on workshop is accessible for beginners.

  • All lodging is single-room occupancy, double occupancy and non-workshop participant discount is not available for this trip.

  • Meals will be Korean or Korean inspired. Vegan or all Vegetarian meals will be difficult to accommodate. Most dishes will have fish/seafood stock or meat based, substitutions are not available in most cases.

  • Tour cannot confirm nor guarantee wheelchair access, there will be many areas where walking and stairs are the only way to access artist studios and sights.

  • Late August and early September has been warm and humid with possible rain, packing light is recommended. Plus, you will have more room for shopping!

  • Registration limited to 18 and accepted on first come first served basis with a security deposit confirmation.

Detailed itinerary will be provided at close of registration in the first week of June . A mandatory orientation meeting will be scheduled mid-June and you will be contacted through the email address provided on your registration form.

  • In the case of cancellation after (June 2025), Security Deposit will be forfeited. If/when your spot fills by (July), the remainder of your fees will be returned.

  • If Waitlisted, you will be contacted by email when a spot opens. You will have 48 hours to respond with a Security Deposit to secure your spot.

  • Fees include:
    - lodging in Korea at the start of program
    - museum admissions
    - workshop fees (hands-on workshops, materials, firing)**
    - travel within South Korea and meals. Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner. Snacks and alcoholic beverages are not covered.

  • Fees do not include:
    - airfare to and from South Korea
    - applicable tourist visa for South Korea
    - airport transfers to and from Seoul
    - toiletries/cosmetics, otc medications, alcoholic beverages, snacks and souvenirs, etc.
    - travel insurance (including but not limited to medical, lost luggage, flight cancellations, etc.)
